Amazon Web Services (AWS) includes a collection of remote computing services, make up a cloud-computing platform. The first AWS service launched for public usage was SQS (Simple Queue Service) in Nov 2004. Today, Amazon AWS operates from 11 geographical regions across the world. The most well-known services include Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and Simple Storage Service (S3).
